Apple Crumble
Ingredients
- 1kg sliced apples
- 2½ tbsp Caster Sugar
- 2 tbsp Water
- 100g (3½oz) Plain Flour
- 50g (2oz) Porridge Oats
- 50g (2oz) Butter
- Preheat the oven to Gas Mk 5, 190°C, Fan 170°C.
- Place the sliced apples in a 1-litre pudding basin. Sprinkle with a little of the sugar. Pour over 2 tbsp of boiling water.
- Place the flour, sugar and oats into a mixing bowl. Add the butter and rub into the mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the topping over the apples and bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve with homemade custard.
